Harrold Augustus Gomez was born a product of the 70’s. The youngest of 8 kids growing up in the project housing of New Haven Ct. Harrold found out quick it was either sink or swim. With 5 sisters, Harrold became a fixture on the slumber party circuit, which did wonders for his self esteem.

Harrold spent the most part of his youth reading comic books, and dazzling the school kids with his blinding speed. He never ran track, he just ran from the other kids who didn’t appreciate the new program that bussed the inner city kids to their quiet little Catholic school. This is where Harrold developed his sense of humor, especially towards racism. “Racism doesn’t bother me. I’m a black guy, with a Hispanic name, who went to Catholic school in Ct, what haven’t I heard!?!” It wasn’t long before he found out that being funny doesn’t really get you the chicks, it just keeps you out of the nurse’s office.

One night after watching the premier of Eddie Murphy’s HBO special, Delirious, Harrold realized his guidance counselor was wrong. He realized not only could he make a living talking crazy, but unlike most money making opportunities the ghetto had to offer, this one was legal. After going thru culinary school, Harrold traveled the world perfecting his style of cooking for 10 years before he mustered up enough courage to try comedy on stage in Seattle Wa .. Thus his comedy career was born.

Harrold is now a favorite across the Northwest, and has played various dives and colleges through 43 states, and 2 Canadian provinces. His humor touches on a wide range of topics, from his twin daughters, to his cool 70 yr. old dad who “refuses to cut his Jerry Curl.” He was the winner of the 2002 International Seattle Comedy Competition, and a finalist in the 2003 Comedy Central Laugh Riots. He has opened for the likes of Bernie Mack, Chris Rock, Bill Maher, and Ray Romano to name a few. He can be seen in the Indie film Homeless, and was also the opening act for the Dave Chappelle Block Party Tour that kicked off at The Paramount Theater. Harrold is available for hire for any situation that calls for a little humor, including funerals.
